We produced an exceptionally brilliant documentary, funded by the Bill Gates Foundation and Devex, that explored the efforts of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers in Jagdishpur, a village in Varanasi’s Cholapur block. These dedicated workers are committed to controlling and eradicating lymphatic filariasis, also known as filaria. The documentary featured interviews with ASHA workers, their ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife), the Deputy Malaria Officer, and local victims who continue to suffer from this deadly disease, locally known as ‘haathi paon’ or ‘elephant’s feet’. Through these interviews, we gained a deeper understanding of the lethal impact of a single mosquito bite. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the entire team who contributed to the creation of this compelling story.
